Breathing & Life-Threatening Emergencies:
- Choking, difficulty breathing, or non-stop coughing/gagging
- Severe bleeding or bleeding that doesn't stop within five minutes
- Bloated abdomen or dry heaving
- Seizures or strange neurologic activity
- Overheating/heatstroke
- Trouble giving birth
- Pale, white, blue, gray, or purple gums
- Collapse, fainting, or sudden weakness
Trauma & Injuries:
- Hit by Car
- Head trauma or significant injury (even if no obvious wounds)
- Open fractures
- Snakebite
- Bite wounds (dog/cat/wild animal, etc.)
- Eye injuries
- Tongue injuries
- Lameness or not walking
- Sudden severe lameness, inability to walk, or inability to bear weight
Poisoning & Dangerous Substance/Object Ingestion:
- Toxin ingestion (includes chocolate, grapes, narcotics, marijuana, rat poison, etc.)
- Ingestion of human medications
- Ingestion of foreign objects (corn cobs, rib bones, socks, batteries, etc.)
- Multiple doses or accidental overdose of medication
Other Urgent Conditions:
- Allergic reaction (facial swelling, hives)
- Severe vomiting or diarrhea
- Inability to urinate or defecate
- Very high or very low body temperature
- Severe uncontrolled or unidentifiable pain
